The WSU Native Plant & Landscape Restoration Nursery depends heavily on a volunteer group of faculty and students to accomplish many of its activities. The Nursery provides excellent opportunities for individuals interested in environmental education, horticulture, landscape design, native plant ecology, and restoration ecology to make an effective contribution to the ongoing program of the Nursery. Some positions are offered as part of the WSU Campus & Community Ecology Project.
Volunteer Program
The Native Plant & Landscape Restoration Nursery is seeking applications from students and graduates of horticultural programs and other individuals interested in furthering the development and mission of the Nursery and its programs. The Volunteer Program is intended for individuals interested in pursuing a career in public horticulture at an arboretum, botanical garden, or nature center, or for those interested in landscape and restoration ecology on public and private lands. Volunteers must commit to a minimum number of hours to work in collaboration with faculty and graduate students conducting specific teaching, research, or development projects at the Nursery.

Please contact the WSU Native Plant & Landscape Restoration Nursery for details about current projects accepting volunteers.
Work-Study Positions
A limited number of work-study positions are available during the year for students to work at the Native Plant & Landscape Restoration Nursery. Individuals are typically required to work 10-20 hours per week on a fixed schedule. Work often will include construction and maintenance of garden beds, weeding, watering, planting of new horticultural displays, and care and propagation of plants in greenhouses.

Contact the WSU Native Plant & Landscape Restoration Nursery for details about current work-study positions and instructions for submitting an application.
