The WSU Native Plant & Landscape Restoration Nursery is self-funded and supported through faculty grants for teaching and research and by corporate and individual gifts and donations. There are many different ways in which the mission and programs of the Nursery can be supported:
Seed & plant material donations
Donations & endowments to support the Nursery
Contributions of greenhouse supplies & materials
Purchase of trees & plants for the nursery
Legacy Tree Project
Support for a dedicated botanical garden
Legacy Tree Project
Plant a tree that can last for centuries. The Legacy Tree Project allows individuals or organizations to create a living legacy by purchasing a legacy tree to be planted in remembrance of an individual or to commemorate a special event. Legacy trees are trees that have the ability to last for many decades, even centuries. By dedicating and planting a legacy tree on campus, people may contribute to the growth of the Arboretum, Round Top Park, the Steffen Center Campus Forest, and future botanical gardens.

Additional theme-based botanical gardens may be sponsored by contributions to the Native Plant Nursery. Among the many theme-based gardens that could be developed for research and future public enjoyment are:
